Romania ADL Partnership Lab

The Romania ADL Partnership Center (former known as Romania ADL Partnership Lab), formed in 2009, is located in Bucharest, Romania. It is sponsored by the "Carol I" National Defence University of the Ministry of National Defence of Romania and the Romanian Ministry of Education, Research, and Innovation.

National Defence University 'Carol I'

National Defence University "Carol I" - The University was founded in 1889 by general Stefan Falcoianu. It became the sixth staff school in Europe, after those in Berlin, Vienna, Paris, Turin, Brussels, initially under "Superior War School." French, German, and Soviet influences were felt during this institution's years in the educational process.

"LABOR IMPROBUS OMNIA VINCIT" - "Great labor overcomes everything" has been the motto for the education of over 17.000 officers from all categories of armed forces since the founding of NDU until the present day.

The educational process in the National Defence University "Carol I" is complete and complex, and it is meant to consolidate the scientific instruments and the methodology needed to facilitate the use of principles and norms of military action and leadership at the joint, operational, and strategic levels in time of peace, crisis and war.

European Security and Defence College

The European Security and Defence College (ESDC) was established in 2005 to provide strategic-level education in European Security and Defence Policy, now Common Security and Defence Policy (CSDP). It followed thorough need analysis and experimentation phases. The creation of the ESDC was to give the Common Security and Defence Policy a training and education instrument that actively promotes a European security culture.

'Gheorghe Asachi Technical' University of Iasi

The "Gheorghe Asachi" Technical University of Iasi is among the oldest and well-known institutions in the country, having an important tradition in engineering, scientific and cultural education, with a distinguishable presence internationally. The university trains engineers with high qualifications, responds quickly and efficiently to the requirements of innovation, research, and economic development. Moreover, the university carries on programs designed to continuously upgrade the engineers` professional skills imposed by the tendencies that appeared globally. The "Gheorghe Asachi" Technical University is a high-end research and education institution. Its mission is to carry out specific activities to create, exploit, and transfer knowledge to society in fundamental areas "Technical Sciences, Architecture, and Urbanism" and in interdisciplinary and complementary fields, involving the local community and regional, national, and international levels.

The University of Bucharest

The University of Bucharest is an influential player within the community of Romanian higher education and research. It plays its part in a global intellectual community working towards protecting and reinforcing academic values and promoting diversity and international collaboration. Being one of the oldest higher education institutions in Romania, it bears responsibility and the obligation to be a pioneer and a model. University POLITEHNICA of Bucharest

University POLITEHNICA of Bucharest is the largest and the oldest technical university in the country and among the most prestigious universities in Romania. The tradition of our institution developed in over 190 years through the effort of the most important nation's schoolmasters and generations of students.

Today University POLITEHNICA of Bucharest has 25000 B.Sc. and M.Sc. full-time students, 1000 Ph.D. students, and an academic staff of 2700 persons in 15 engineering faculties.

Besides educational performance, scientific research represents a mandatory component for the academic staff. UEFISCDI

UEFISCDI is a public entity of the Central Administration under the ultimate authority of the Ministry of National Education. It plays the role of executive agency for five advisory councils of the MEN with responsibilities in higher education, research, development, and innovation.

UEFISCDI highly supports research and innovation policies, targeting, under the supervision of its advisory councils, various types of research and innovation activities (exploratory research, applied research, innovation, and technology transfer).

The Executive Agency is involved in many international projects, acknowledging the importance of networking and cooperation. The agency has strategic partnerships and cooperation agreements with several organizations (ESF, SNSF, ANR, DFG, NSF), and it is a member of different European associations.

UEFISCDI puts great value on the enthusiasm and drives to initiate new projects; hence it offers support to SMEs by EUREKA, EUROSTARS, and administrates the Romanian participation to the Joint Technology Initiatives – JTI/JU (ENIAC, Artemis, Clean Sky, Fuel Cells, IMI).

'Carol I' Central University Library

After the National Library and the Library of the Romanian Academy, the third-largest and most important library in Romania, "Carol I" Central University Library is under the Romanian Ministry of Education authority. Founded on March 14, 1895, as a Royal Foundation, "Carol I" Central University Library provides a sustainable continuity of cultural and educational traditions which marked its initial stages. Throughout the 125 years span since its foundation, "Carol I" Central University Library, as one of the most flourishing Romanian libraries, collect, organize, preserve and provides access to and services for a rich and unique record of human thought and creativity. It fosters intellectual growth and supports the teaching and research missions of the University of Bucharest and scholarly communities in the capital city and promotes cultural values through conferences, lectures, workshops, and exhibitions.

'Grigore T. Popa' University of Medicine and Pharmacy

"Grigore T. Popa" University of Medicine and Pharmacy, founded in 1879, is one of the most prestigious medical schools in Europe. This medical university brings together four faculties: Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, and Medical Bioengineering. Founded in 1990, member of European Alliance for Medical and Biological Engineering and Science from 2004, today Faculty of Medical Bioengineering is an institution of higher education accredited and certified by IEP-EUA and by Romanian Agency Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ARACIS).

University assumes that fundamental roles in training and development graduates and professionals, creation, treasuring, and disseminating the values sciences biomedical and their affirmation in the European and global continuous improvement activities and national public health system performance, cultivating free thought and democratic tradition of academic ethics and bioethics, in the spirit of recognizing rights and fundamental freedoms and the rule of law.
