Call for Papers

The” Carol I” National Defence University, under the aegis of the European Security and Defence College (ESDC) has the honour of organising the 19th annual international scientific conference on "eLearning and Software for Education - eLSE"  - in Bucharest and online from 27 to 28 April 2023.

The conference aims to enable academic, research and corporate entities to boost the potential of technology-enhanced learning environments by providing a forum for exchanging ideas, research outcomes, business cases and technical achievements. The event has traditionally attracted interest in eLearning and software for education from a broad array of governmental, non-governmental and industry entities that use the conference as a platform for research, promoting innovative ideas and networking.

The central theme of this year's edition is Shifting from macro to micro (micro-learning & micro-credentials).

The main panels will focus on the following topics:

Each year, the research dimension attracts an impressive number of papers, which are published and sent for indexation to several databases such as: CEEOL, SCOPUS, PROQUEST, EBSCO, and CLARIVATE ANALYTICS (former THOMSON REUTERS - ISI conference proceedings).

We would like to invite participants from EU member states, NATO countries and their partners to the eLSE Conference 2023 to discuss and imagine together innovative ways to improve our shared understanding through learning engineering for more resilient education and training systems.

The general principles applying to all scientific contributions are:

Abstracts should clearly outline your intentions in at least 200 words and will be submitted only on the conference website.
Papers should be submitted only on the conference website using the camera-ready template model.
All authors must register, and each paper should be covered by one conference fee.
An author can publish up to 2 accepted papers in the conference proceedings.
A paper cannot have more than seven authors.

While eLSE does encourage commercial participation, it is mainly a scientific event. The conference relates to and displays commercial activities throughout the eLSE program in the Products/Services Showcase and other presentations by companies.

We invite you to attend eLSE in 2023 and submit proposals for papers, panels, roundtables, workshops, research/technical showcases, products/services showcases, products/services presentations, and poster presentations.
